The anti-Denturism monopoly prevents the efficient supply of dentures and undermines the specialization and natural development of Dental Technology. It denies consumers the opportunity of fully-disclosed treatment options and the freedom of choice. Restrictive practices, which control the supply of prosthetic services artificially suppresses access and availability of this basic essential Health commodity. In rural areas many communities are without basic Oral Health services, simply because private Dental practice is not viable due to overhead cost and population distribution. Denturists could partner with Dental Therapists and provide basic services in rural District Clinics on an Outreach basis or itinerary Mobile service in partnership with the State.
